Victoria D'Cotledge brings direct public defense experience to every case. As a former King County Department of Public Defense - ACA Division Investigator, she worked alongside defense attorneys on felony matters across the King County court system - conducting witness interviews, developing evidence, and supporting attorneys through trial preparation.Prior to King County, she worked California criminal defense matters from 2009, initially under a supervising attorney's private investigator license and from 2017, under her own (De Jure Investigations) providing criminal defense attorneys with investigative support across federal and state matters including homicide, sex offenses, DUI, domestic violence, drug cases, and federal charges.Her 15+ years of criminal defense experience include witness development, evidentiary research, crime scene investigation, mitigation research, and structured case analysis. All work is conducted with the professional discretion, evidentiary discipline, and litigation awareness that defense attorneys require.

Professional standards

Victoria is on the King County Department of Public Defense investigator list, the Snohomish County Office of Public Defense panel, and the Kitsap County OPD panel. She is a member of the Washington Association of Legal Investigators (WALI), the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (WACDL), and the Washington Defender Association (WDA), and holds an active Top Secret clearance, a B.S. in Computer Forensics, and private investigator licenses in both Washington State and California. She previously served as a federal background investigator and is a member of the Association of Workplace Investigators.She accepts cases throughout Western Washington. Most defense investigations - records review, witness interviews, background research, social media and digital analysis - are handled remotely, which keeps costs down and makes her available to counsel outside the immediate Seattle area.
